When I have the DF taskbar on and I click on the Windows taskbar it opens a new instance of the program every time. Also the Windows taskbar doesn't give me a preview of running programs nor does it underline them.

This is a real show stopper since the only reason for buying DF was for the second systray.

I running Windows OS Build 16299.19

Does this happen as soon as DisplayFusion starts, or only after it's been running for a while?

Whether or not I have DF start automatically at boot up. If I have the DF taskbar enabled when I start it, as soon as I start DF the problem starts. If I don't have it enabled when I start DF then as soon as I enable DF's taskbar the problem starts. In both cases Windows second taskbar is turned off.

Here are some examples using the Win taskbar:

Firefox is set up to only run one window, It opens FF with a new tab.

Vivaldi always opens a 2nd window.

File Explorer always opens a 2nd window.

Take Command alway opens a 2nd window.

Total Commander and TextPad open a 2nd window unless set to only open 1 window. However, when set to single window only clicking on the Win taskbar when it's open will not minimize it.

Here are some examples using the DF taskbar:

Windows Settings I can't open it from the DF taskbar. Once it is opened it opens a 2nd icon on the DF taskbar, which then acts normally.

Run (Ctrl-R) icon on taskbar opens file explorer to Documents.

Also Avast anti-virus won't open from the DF systray. Though everything else in the stystray seems to be working okay.

It almost seems like Windows thinks the Shift key is being held while DisplayFusion is running. Could you attach a backup of your settings? (Settings > Options > Export)

Thanks! It looks like this is because you've got the taskbar mode on the Settings > Taskbar tab set to "Windows taskbar shows no windows." If you choose any of the other taskbar modes, that should fix this up :)

Sorry, I should have been clear. I meant the Taskbar Mode option on the DisplayFusion Settings > Taskbar tab :)

Got it thank you. Strange wording for the problems it will cause.

FYI I still can't access the Avast icon from the DF systray unless I hide it. I can live with this but it is odd. Maybe even a bug?

The Avast tray icon issue is a known one, but we weren't able to fix it up. Avast just doesn't respond when we send left or right-click messages to its tray icon :(
