I have a monitor and a tv setup to my PC. I have lighting around my monitor. The tv is in another room so I would like the lighting to turn off when I select that profile. I attempted to create a trigger but was unsuccessful. The program remained on and in fact just created a new problem (that I can't get rid of) wherein I am constantly told the "program is already running".

There is an icon in the taskbar which toggles the lights on and off. I would love a way to create a trigger that activates/deactivates that toggle icon on certain profiles. I would really appreciate some help on this as I feel it's outside my skill level. Cheers.

So basically you need a Trigger rule to close the program when on a certain profile, and another Trigger rule to launch the program on another profile?

Does the program have an actual window that you close, or do you have to right-click its tray icon and choose exit?

You have to right click it to close it.

Ok, so it would be possible to kill the process, but not to exit it cleanly. Would that work for you? If so, let me know the process name and I'll write up some sample scripted functions for you to try out.

I'm not sure. Like I said it's a bit out of my skill set. It's worth a go, unless of course you think it could cause harm. That would be really appreciated. Thanks very much.

I don't mind giving it a try! What's the process name? (e.g. application.exe)

Thanks so much. Very appreciated. According to task manager the name is Lightpack Software. Under the details of the program it's called Prismatik.exe

Ok, I've posted 2 Scripted Functions to the repository (Settings > Functions > Download Scripted), "Start Prismatik" and "End Prismatik."

Can you try downloading those and then calling them from your Triggers?

I've downloaded them, however I'm not sure what you mean by "calling them from your triggers". I've gone into the triggers section but I'm unsure of what to set or select.

Sorry, I'll provide some more details there. Basically you want to create Trigger rules to detect the Monitor Profiles and then run those functions. Here are the steps:

  • Make sure you save both monitor setups as Monitor Profiles
  • Create the first Trigger rule with the "Monitor Profile Changed" Trigger Event, choose the Monitor Profile in the Match Conditions section, then in the Actions section click Add > Run Function and choose the Scripted Function.
  • Repeat the step above for the other configuration/scripted function.

Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot, Kieth. I'm out of town just now but I should be back soon. I'll give it a shot when I get back and if you're not too busy we could go from there if I don't get it going. Thanks again.
