Hi,

I'm using two windows7 machines connected to a monitor through a KVM (Aten CS782DP), using Displayport. Every time I switch between these machines, one of them looses all the window positions and sizes.

I have already tried installing new drivers for the video card and the monitor.

Running DisplayFusion's functions for saving and restoring windows through key shortcuts works mostly fine.
I'm wondering now which triggers I could use to make this happen automatically when switching.

Thanks in advance!

Using the "Monitor Profile Changed" trigger might work. I would suggest trying something like this:
  • Create a Monitor Profile
  • Create a Trigger rule that runs the Save Window Positions function on a Timer Interval, making sure to select the Monitor Profile in the Match Conditions section
  • Create a second Trigger rule that runs the Restore Window Positions function on Monitor Profile Change, also making sure to select the Monitor Profile in the Match Conditions. Also add a 5 or 10 second "Wait" action to this trigger rule before the Restore Window Positions function,
just to give Windows some time to finish with monitor detection before it tries to restore the positions.

So in theory, it should save the positions every X seconds only while you're on that Monitor Profile, and then restore them automatically when you switch back to that Monitor Profile.

Hope that helps!

Thank you, I'll give it a try.
How do I disable the notification "window position saved", as it happens now every ten seconds, :-)

I know how to disable ALL notifications from DisplayFusion, but not only that one.

Unfortunately it's an all or nothing option at the moment, sorry :(

We'll hopefully be changing that at some point in the future though!
