Hi all,

I've got some title bar icons enabled and am using a theme on Windows 8.1 where the title bar is dark and text is white. Can I make the DisplayFusion icons like Always On Top white or some other color?

Right now I can't see it unless I hover over.

I think that's a great idea - if it isn't already in the software

In Settings, on the Functions tab, click the titlebar button you want to change at the bottom of the window.

3 icons will appear. Click the edit button which is the leftmost one.

There you can change how the icon appears and which theme you want to use. Windows 8 defaults to the "Windows XP - dark" theme, you probably want to change it to the light version.

You'll need to make a note of which icon it's currently set to, as annoyingly changing the theme resets this and you need to find it again.

Awesome! So many hidden functions. I've been using Display Fusion since 2008 (maybe earlier?) and it has definitely come a long way.

I've hit this before, as well. It would be great if they fixed this annoyance.

It would be nice if we had a newer set of icons that were cleaner, meaning no shadows and fancypants stuff. Also as muzicman82 stated... is it possible to change the mouse over or the actual icon color?

I think it'd be beneficial for most of us to customize the icon color when the window is (un)focused, rather than having to stick with a fixed color. Ideas?

That's what I'm using, tried them all, but they're fairly difficult to see even at 4K. Having the ability to change the icon colors would be nice.

Also buttons do overlap some features and tabs in some applications.

What I'd like to be able to do is to change the colour of the icon for a specific application. For example the Netflix window has a black titlebar and I'd like to invert the button colour to be white (or offer a palette of colours as white won't suit everyone).

This leads me onto the next request. There is no provision for adding compatibility settings for Universal Apps as they don't appear in the 'Application' list. Could this functionality be added?

Just found this discussion only today. Your last posting was about a year ago. Just adding my 2 cents to this discussion.

Would it still be possible for you to invert the colours of the titlebar buttons? See screenshot below. The minimize, restore/max and close buttons invert when switching from active/inactive.

I am using the Windows XP icons, and yes they do show up.

Just wondering, would it be possible for your team to design and provide Windows 10 style titlebar icons with the clean minimalist look as suggested previously by others? Sorry, I'm just being a nitpicky user Perhaps you know something I don't, and this is a "do-nothing", especially if Microsoft is phasing in their fluent design to Windows 10. I don't see fluent applied to the titlebars in some apps and folder windows in the fall creators update, but maybe they will in the next update Any news on that front?

You're right, I am using the Windows Aero icons, and not the XP ones. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I can use the Win XP icons, but when a window or app is inactive, the icon colour does not invert, so the result is one cannot see the icon. For example, if I choose the white flat XP icon, then it won't show up when the windows/app is inactive, because the titlebar is white in the inactive state. Conversely, if I choose the black flat XP icon, it shows up in the inactive window/app, but not when the window/app is active. So, I have to use the Aero buttons instead. It's ok, but none of the icons really integrate well with the Windows 10 design (i.e., they don't look native to the OS.)

I could create my own icons (I haven't tried this yet), but I would run into the same problem with the icons not inverting in colour.

Alternatively, if you had a way for DisplayFusion to let a user choose custom icons for active and inactive states, this might solve the problem. Note that this feature would only apply to custom icons, and not the aero and XP icons, because it's unecessary.
