I've been running without trouble for years, but yesterday I noticed that my task bars were flickering every few seconds or so after waking up from screen saver mode. Only change I can imagine is that I fiddled around with "Enable desktop wallpaper slideshow" settings. I didn't leave them enabled though, I simply went back to a single wallpaper jpeg as before, and now the flicker happens after the screen saver runs.

I can stop it with "End Process" on the screen saver item in my task manager. Anything I can do to correct this?

Is DFSSaver.scr still running after you exit the screen saver? And killing it makes the taskbar stop flickering?

Exactly. Reboot doesn't help. Disable screen saver, allow screens to power-save, all is well.

Ok, interesting! Does it matter which screen saver you choose in the DisplayFusion Settings, or do they all cause the same issue?

Good question! Unfortunately I think I blew up our test environment in the interim trying to fix it myself lol.

Yesterday I was digging around in my control panel and found that I had installed an updated nVidia driver over a month ago:

NVIDIA - Display - 7/18/2017 12:00:00 AM - 22.21.13.8494

Thinking it’s worth a try I uninstall it, reverting back to the last successful nVidia update:

nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 - NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 (‎1/‎19/‎2013)

Viola! Problem went away and I can run the “BlackHole” saver without issue again. Try to install the new driver again to verify the failure, and now I only get a failed install message:

NVIDIA - Display - 7/18/2017 12:00:00 AM - 22.21.13.8494
Installation date: ‎9/‎11/‎2017 8:30 AM
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 80070103
Update type: Optional
NVIDIA Display driver update released in July 2017

So, not sure that’s much help or not, but that’s what happened. I’ll report back here if I experience the taskbar flicker again, but I’m thinking this issue is not DisplayFusion, it’s my crappy system.

Thanks much for your quick responses and for the awesome utilities :)

No worries! Thanks for the extra info, that will be helpful in tracking down the root cause if others run into the same issue.

And thanks for the kind words!
