On a Windows 7 box, I have been running the latest version of DF with screensaver such that both of my two monitors had their own slide show screensaver. I decided to also add a screensaver to the LOGIN screen, so I checked that. Next time I went in to try to manipulate the screensaver settings, I discovered that the settings panel is GONE. I cannot get to the settings of the screensaver. When I try to do that through the command line, I get an error that the system administrator has disabled viewing the screen. But, I am that admin. And, I am the one that made the change to make the screensaver enabled for logins. How can I revert so that the screensaver can be enabled and configured, again?

I suspect maybe when I attempted to mess with the login, the group policy above my computer (network-enforced group policy) has disabled the screensaver. If I can somehow turn off the setting that specified to have a screensaver during login, then maybe all will be well, again. I just cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse my selection.

Thanks

More information:

If I uninstall DF, then I can access the default Windows 7 screensaver settings. If I reinstall DF, I no longer can access the screensaver settings.

It has to be related to the fact that I tried to enable screensaver during login.

There must be a REGEDIT entry where I have that set... if I could just remove that, or something, then all should be well.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

That's really strange! DisplayFusion sets the SCRNSAVE.EXE value in this registry key: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

Maybe deleting that value will fix it up?

No, not really. It did cause some positive change: Now I can go into a screensaver configuration from the desktop (wallpaper), by right-clicking on the desktop, and selecting Personalize. Then, I can see "Screensaver" which shows DF, but the link opens the default Windows screensaver configuration panel. All options are greyed out, though. When Preview is selected, I just get a black screen.

It is as if a global configuration is taking over now, after I set that one setting. I just wonder how I am supposed to undo that setting.

Very strange. Usually, I can figure out these sorts of things... but this one is evading me. I do not want to escalate it to my local IT department, as it is too trivial for them in their workload. I should be able to do this on my own.

Thanks

So the Screen Saver tab is still missing from the DisplayFusion Settings window?
