I know that titlebar buttons can be turned off on a program specific basis in the compatibility options, but what I'd find useful is the ability to only display a subset on specific programs - e.g. Calculator, as it isn't wide enough for all the titlebar buttons I have configured, but a couple could fit.
This is currently on our feature request list, so I've added your vote to it. We'll be sure to let you know if/when we're able to implement it in the future.
