Hello! So far, I love 'Fusion, but I can't get a wallpaper to display on my primary monitor. Setting a different wallpaper for each monitor shows correctly on Monitor 2, but Monitor 1 is just showing blue. Spanning one wallpaper across both monitors works.

Same problem for 1.41 and 1.42.

If I open the .bmp it creates (Application Data\Binary Fortress Software\DisplayFusion) it's a double wide wallpaper, blue on the left and my wallpaper on the right)

ATI FireGL V3100
Monitor 1: 1600 x 1200
Monitor 2: 1280 x 1024

Any ideas what might be going on?

Hi Benway,

I was having the same problem yesterday. It had worked fine previously and suddenly I changed the wallpaper settings and it turned blue on the primary monitor, just as in your description.
Strangely enough, the problem went away when I updated my LCD driver to the vendor's driver (HP in my case). Then the same problem recurred when I did the following:

If I dragged any window to the laptop screen (set as secondary monitor, which never came up with the quirky blue wallpaper), a message popped up by the DisplayFusion icon saying "display configuration has changed. click here to adjust settings" or something to that effect. If I click on it, the primary monitor's wallpaper goes back to being blue! If I clear the secondary desktop of all windows, the popup comes up again and fixes it. If I ignore it to begin with, everything stays fine.

This seems like an odd bug to me, but easily avoided if you keep in mind the consequences of clicking on the popup.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for being so patient. I have just released DisplayFusion v1.5.0 and it should take care of this issue. Please give it a try and let me know if it corrects your issue. You can find the new DisplayFusion here:

Thanks!

Hmmm, just tried 1.5 and still have the same problem. The #1 monitor remains blue (it won't even change the background to black). I've since changed computers & video cards and still have the same problem.
#1 NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500, 1600x1200
#2 1280 x 1024

Really frustrating, because I would pay for this program, it looks very good, but I just can't get it to work. Could it be the high resolution on monitor #1? (it works fine on my home computer with two monitors set to 1280x1024)

Just an addition note: If I open the double wide .bmp that 'fusion creates (with the blue #1 side) and paste my own image to it and apply it to the desktop (not using 'fusion), it displays as expected. If I open 'fusion then and just hit 'apply' to refresh, it changes it back to all blue on the #1 monitor. Hope this helps...

'nuther note: Just updated to the latest NVIDIA drives and I'm still getting a blue screen on primary. Very confusing, since this is the second computer (at work) that has this problem (both DELLs with XP pro). As I mentioned, it works fine at home. I do have full admin privileges here at work as well...

Hi , I had the same problem but I found the solution.
Under the properties of the monitor (right click desktop) properties settings advanced troubleshooting
then all you do is uncheck the Enable write combining. You need to restart then
Presto your problems are solved.

Hope that helps :-)
Cheers

Hmm, well now it no longer gives me a blue primary monitor background, but now it fails to change what's there at all. It shows in the setup window, but when I hit 'apply' it only changes the secondary monitor....

What happens if you try swapping your primary and secondary monitors in the windows display properties dialog? Is it still the primary monitor that is messed up? Also, do you have Active Desktop enabled, or the "hide desktop icons" option turned on?
