Lock to main monitor when second is off

I just recently purchased a second monitor and purchased DisplayFusion. Love this app. including the plethora of settings/options rather than dumbing down to basics. Having said that, I am having problems getting back to working with a single monitor after the second monitor is turned off.

1. I find that my mouse cursor continues to leave the viewing area of the main monitor rather than stopping (snagging?) at the boundaries. I have read the help FAQs at

and the screen in the image returns some options. Playing with these doesn't confine my mouse cursor to the main monitor based on the settings that I have tried.

2. Then, doing a screen capture to show the settings in 1. above, I find that the second monitor is captured even though it is turned off.

3. So I click on "File Explorer" to get some info and it doesn't bring it up. What the! I reboot thinking that something is stuck. Then it occurred to me that maybe File Explorer was on the second, off monitor. Sure enough, it was.

So I return to my question, How do I revert to single monitor functionality when the second monitor is turned off? Using a map is fine (e.g., Functions/mouse cursor/lock*/*/*)

It sounds like your monitor isn't being detected by Windows as being off, so Windows still thinks it's powered on and in use. Your best option would be the following:

Save your 2 Monitor layout as a Monitor Profile
Disable the second monitor, and save that layout as another Monitor Profile
When you power off the monitor, load the 1 Monitor Profile
When you power the monitor back on, load the 2 Monitor Profile

You can assign key combinations to the Monitor Profiles as well, by clicking the "Manage Monitor Profiles" button in the Monitor Configuration window after you've saved them
