The HD died tragically on my DELL 9020 Windows 7 machine. I got a new disk and rebuilt the OS from the DELL Win7 install disk and ran all updates. Before the crash, DisplayFusion (pro license) would change my lock screen. I had been running it for several versions (since version 4.3) and had all the latest updates, though I do not know if I was on the latest beta. Since the rebuild, DF will not change the lock screen. I checked the regedit and gpedit settings with no help. I installed another third-party software, Windows Logon Background Changer, and it was able to set a lock screen image. (https://www.howtogeek.com/112110/how-to-set-a-custom-logon-screen-background-on-windows-7/). DF will still not change my lock screen. I've attached the DebugInfo zip. Hope you can help!

Can you check the following?

  • Press Win + R to open a Run prompt
  • Type in the following and click OK: services.msc
  • Find DisplayFusionService in the list. Is it running?
  • If not, right-click it and choose Start.
  • Once it's running, test the Windows Lock Screen again.

Hope that helps!

Even though I'd run Windows Updates several times, it apparently got more last night, as the lock screen function was working after I rebooted again today. Thank you for the prompt reply!
