Basically, I have my PC connected to my TV (secondary monitor), and often watch movies (VLC/Netflix) or play games on the TV in the evening and having my bright-IPS monitor blaring out isn't ideal. I have backlights (Prismatik) installed on my TV which requires both displays to be active (ie I can't just completely turn off my primary monitor) - so, I'm looking for a way to automatically put my primary monitor to sleep or at least dim it whenever a window is active on my secondary monitor, and if not a tray icon that I can activate to sleep/dim my primary monitor - is this possible? Cheers! :)

Have you tried out the options on the Monitor Fading tab? You can manually dim a monitor, or have it automatically dim whichever one you're not using :)

Hope that helps!

Hi, is there a way to automatically dim other monitors only when focus to a fullscreen game/video instead of "non-currrent monitors" & "non-primary monitors"?
----
I'm using "non-currrent monitors" with toggle hotkey as temporary solution, but sometime taskbar of other monitor won't dim (attachment), is that a bug?

Hi Dinh,

Have you tried using "Fade Everything Except Current Window"?

How often does the taskbar not fade as well?

Thanks!

Hi.
"Fade Everything Except Current Window" doesn't fit my need. Most of the time I don't need Fade function, it cause a flash light when switching between monitors that hurt my eyes.
As mentioned, I just want to fade other monitors while focus to a fullscreen task (fullscreen youtube, fullscreen vlc, fullscreen game), or a special process (someSoftware.exe)
-----
Whenever i click on DF's taskbar (on sub monitor) then focus to main monitor: DF's taskbar won't fade until Start menu is opened. Windows's taskbar (on my main monitor) don't meet this problem

Hi Dinh,

1) Ah okay, we don't currently have functions to enable/disable monitor fading, just the toggle on/off which can get messy when trying to have it fire on window focus. I've added your vote to our feature request for the functions to enable/disable monitor fading, so we'll be sure to let you know if we have any news on that in the future.

2) I was able to reproduce this on my end, so I've added this to our list to look into as well.

Thanks!
