Prior to installing DF 7.3.4, I believe either Windows 10 or my NVIDIA software was showing an identical taskbar on each monitor. I lost that when DF was installed. I like that. I don't see how to set it back that way in DF's Taskbar menu.

Might have been the Windows 10 multi-monitor taskbar. You should be able to re-enable it by right-clicking the Windows taskbar, choosing Properties, and enabling the "Show taskbar on all displays" checkbox.

Alternatively, you can enable the DisplayFusion multi-monitor taskbar on the Settings > Taskbar tab :)

Hope that helps!

EDIT: Note: I'm editing my instructions in March 2020 as the procedure for setting Windows 10 to do this, at least for version 1809, has changed. (Win 10 has an annoying tendency to change their way of setting things like this from time to time.)

Thanks for the pointer in the right direction. Thanks to that, yes, I was able to get it fixed outside of Display Fusion.

Not sure why with the voluminous options for customization in DF, this particular one got dropped, but maybe I'm the only guy who wants it like this. Here's an example of why you might want it Windows' way. You're playing a video maximized on Monitor 1, your main display. You need the taskbar button on monitor 2 even with the program not opened if you want to avoid navigating through Start or disrupting the video playback.

Here's the fix for anyone else who misses the way Windows allows this to work in Win 10, displaying all taskbar buttons on all monitors:
1. Start > [Apps, or All Programs, as needed > ] Display Fusion > Display Fusion Settings. Click the Taskbar tab. UncheckEnable Multi-Monitor Taskbars. Be sure to click Apply> OK. Close it.
2. Right-click the taskbar on the main monitor. Click Taskbar Settings. Scroll down and enable Show taskbar on all displays. Set Show taskbar buttons on: All taskbars. Close Settings.

If you don't do #1 including hitting Apply there before you do #2, DisplayFusion may continue to nag you to let DF disable Windows' way of doing it.

That feature wasn't dropped from DisplayFusion. You can do that by going to settings>taskbar>taskbar mode and select "all taskbars show all windows" from the drop-down box. I like DisplayFusion's taskbar more since the second one will have a start button and I can hide the windows on the other monitor from it.

Weboh, I just tried that again, and on my Win 10 system, that displays a full taskbar on the main monitor, and a taskbar on the second monitor with a Start button, but the only icons appearing on the second monitor are the programs that are open on either monitor. My goal is to get duplicate full taskbars on both monitors regardless of what programs are open, and so far the only way to get that I've seen is to disable DF's taskbar and set Windows' multimonitor taskbar as above. Maybe I'm missing another key setting in DisplayFusion to make it display as you say.

@hamjor: It sounds like you want to duplicate the pinned icons (not running) as well as the running buttons, correct?

Thanks! That's currently on our feature request list, so I've added your vote to it. We'll be sure to let you know when we're able to implement it :)

Same from another who thought this was once an option.

I'd love identical, full-featured taskbars on all my screens —- visible and hidden icons, apps, buttons, badges, CPU and GPU temps... the works. For me, it's more efficient to reach for the taskbar nearest my forever-changing, multi-windowed environment, especially helpful for we who tell taskbars to disappear when not actively in use.

Thanks in advance!

I work with 3 wide screen monitors, with 30+ shortcuts...
it's a pain to navigate to central monitor to open a new program
problem with windows multi-monitor task bar is that I loose all icons but clock at the right side of the taskbars
this shouldn't be in "wish" list, but "must" list

Yes! Full icon display in allWIndows taskbars! It's a thing!
Here's picture proof. Yay!

How did this happen?
▶ For reasons unknown, my main Taskbar moved by itself to my second monitor, at left. It's a mystery.
▶ Nothing in Display Fusion documentation helped.
▶ Microsoft suggested swapping my primary and secondary monitors, rearranging them in Settings/Displays. I complied, designating Monitor #1 as #2.
▶ Restarted Windows 10 and found my #1 Monitor was restored to #1.
▶ Program icons now appear on both monitors' Taskbars. And, both Taskbars function perfectly.
▶ Display Fusion error message wanted me to turn off Windows' Taskbar controls. No way!
▶ Display Fusion kept my setting that placed Hidden Icons on the right in Monitor #2
▶ Open programs in Monitor #2 display both iconand text in the Taskbar.
▶ Open programs in Monitor #1 display onlythe icon with a gray line beneath said icon. I like it.
▶ Works with auto-hide on or off.

It can be doneand I hope Display Fusion figures out how to legitimize this quirk in its next update. When did this thread begin? 2016? Really.

As you can see in your picture, both toolbars aren't identical.
Program icons are the same, but right zone are stripped down in secondary monitor to clock only.
In my case, I use "Date In Tray" to show calendar date.
I would like to see it in every monitor, not only the main one, along with all other "hidden" icons.

I consider this discovery a major breakthrough in enlightening a company that has for years denied this much was possible. I have not provided a fix, only a revelation. But I have placed the ball squarely in Display Fusion's court. Tell them to act on my findings and include clock settings that will gratify your needs. I will be happy to help them replicate what I have stumbled upon.

Also, switching from small to large Taskbar buttons in Settings places time and date between Network Access and Notifications. Mousing over the condensed clock entry while using small buttons spells out the correct date and time in a tool tip.

We never said it wasn't possible, we just haven't implemented that mode for the DisplayFusion taskbars yet. Yours somehow got reset to using the Windows 10 multi-monitor taskbars, which do have that mode, but are missing some other things like tray icons on the non-Primary monitors, and the ability to customize button positions, etc.

We are hoping to add an "All taskbars show all pinned" mode in the next version though, so we will be sure to update this thread when it's available.

Thanks!

hi Keith, thank you for your answer.
I remember a thread with this turn around, as I has been using it for a while.
Anyway, when you are going to do your magic, please include all hidden & shown icons, not just the clock.

OK here is my problem I already had all 3 monitors with all Desktop Icons and in the Taskbar had a Toolbar added. It is called Games Toolbar holding all the start icons in it which in turn started Steam with one click (note right monitor at bottom). No I have Desktop Icons only on center monitor and Games Toolbar on right monitor. I even saved the setup under a profile but is got messed up on a system crash and never came back. still working on it.

We've heard this before, and it never happens. Display Fusion just reverts to its prime obsession — making its list of advanced preferences another two or three feet longer. and even more indecipherable. Sad.

Here's the only way we can control of Multi-Monitor Taskbars most, but not all,of the ways we'd like them. It requires for my three monitors (where the far edges of Monitors 1 and 3 are 58" apart) enabling some elements of Windows Taskbar controls and some elements of DisplayFusion — though the latter dislikes the idea and posts this superfluous warning on each boot-up.

Monitor 1 has Clock, Start and Hidden Icons positioned to the right, Monitors 2 and 3 are positioned to the left. Active windows appear on all three taskbars.

No conflicts occur and we still cannot see all our taskbar icons on all three screens, but alas, a good nagging by DisplayFusion is as good as it gets — state of the art in display control, apparently.

Is this issue still not solved at all?
its ridiculous tbh,
with windows 10 as default I get all icons on all screens,
but playing games each screen its 1920x1080 so need to use NV Surround,
this as 0 options which windows 10 as by default,
I purchase displayfusion and its way better than Nvidia settings for sure,
but still not like I want it,
all 3 screens showing everything just the same 100%
its just too time consuming keep coming back to the center when working!

WHAT? Is this a joke? Out of all the hundreds of checkboxes, duplicate icons on each display isn't one of them!?! I've ALWAYS configured that way, and apparently a lot of others do as well.
This is a deal killer for me.
With so many advanced options, I'm very suprised this very basic fundamental function was never implemented, even after 3 years of people asking for it!?!
For me, using this app is worse than not using this app. It showed promise, but i am uninstalling.
PS -1 for ignoring suggestions from your user base. It's tragic, actually, this bloaty program would have still have been amazing for just the tiny task of getting that clock and sys tray on all monitors. So little task to ask for!

Can't you just add the same shortcuts from your main monitor as DisplayFusion shortcuts for your second monitor? That's how I have it set up and my taskbars are identical.

I also am looking for the "All taskbars show all pinned" feature. I want the taskbars on all 3 of my monitors to be identical. I don't want to have to switch between monitors to get at different taskbar icons.
