Hello and thanks for DF!

I have been having this nagging issue for some time. Through multiple versions of DF as well as multiple GFX cards and motherboards. I have also performed a clean install of Windows 7.

The error occurs after the pc is powered on or waked from sleep and I try to apply a monitor profile. If I simply apply the profile again everything works perfectly. It only occurs once. I have 2 displays connected. One monitor and one tv both in 1920x1080.

Here is the full error.

Is only one, or both monitors enabled when the computer wakes from sleep?

Only one. I most often have only one enabled by the time the pc sleeps.

I caught your drift and tested letting the pc sleep with both enabled. The same error occurred. It resumed on my primary display. What can I do? This has been happening for years. It makes me a little sad.

Ok, thanks for trying that! After you wake from sleep, if you enable the monitor with the Windows display settings instead of DisplayFusion, does it still get disabled after the next sleep/resume?

Using windows display settings, the pc resumed with both displays enabled. I still got an error when applying a single display profile.

To clarify after more testing. The pc resumes with the correct displays enabled (same as before it sleeps). However, without fail, the error occurs regardless of which profile I apply. If I simply apply it again, all works perfectly until the pc sleeps. If the pc has been shut down, DF works perfectly when its booted up.

What did you find? I've been keeping DF updated but I keep getting this error. It definitely occurs due to the pc going to sleep. Is it Gigabyte motherboards?

Sorry, I should have posted an update. All three of those files look exactly the same, so it's very weird that it errors one time, and then works the next. Without being able to reproduce this here, it will be impossible for us to debug the issue. I'm leaving this open on my list, as I have a few other Monitor Configuration issues to try and reproduce here as well, so I'll be working on all of them at the same time. If we make any progress, we'll definitely let you know!

In the meantime, one last thing you can try is to enable the "Monitor Configuration > Use classic get/set functions" option in the Settings > Advanced Settings window. I'm not sure if it will fix the issue for you, but it's worth a try :)

Thanks for looking into it. The great news is a recent nvidia driver update [375.70] seems to have fixed it. After years of this error. Funny thing is I had this error with my last ati gfx card as well. I've been using geforce experience to update the drivers lately. Maybe thats the way to go.

Interesting! Glad to hear it's all working correctly now. I wonder if a recent Windows Update may have contributed to fixing the issue as well?

I suppose it could have been a windows update. I don't pay close attention to that. Since I posted, the error has occurred a few times. It is far less frequent now but still frustrating.

Would you be able to try loading the Monitor Profiles through the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window for a while? I've had a couple of other customers report that they get a similar error when loading the profiles via hotkey or the tray menu, but not when loading it through the Monitor Configuration window. I'm curious to find out if the same is true on your system.
