Recently I have regular occurrences of my system hanging for 20 - 40 seconds, or so.

I just recently identified that when this occurs, Windows Task Manager shows the CPU pegged at 100% and DisplayFusion is a large percentage of the total.

I noted that when the spike clears, there is still a significant percentage of current utilization attributed to DisplayFusion.

I am attaching the export of the Troubleshooting tab, but unfortunately, this is not from when the spike occurred, but some time afterwards.

This is DisplayFusion Pro 9.1, Build Date: Nov 14, 2017 20:12 on Windows 7 Enterprise.

My user is not an admin on the computer, but DisplayFusion has been working well for the past year that I've had this laptop.

The laptop is docked, open and has 2 additional displays connected, for 3 total.

Could you try rolling back to 8.1.2 and let me know if you still see this issue?

Hi Keith,

I do not have local admin on my laptop, so uninstalling and reinstalling is not a good solution for me.

I just experienced the issue where the CPU usage pegged at 100%, with 93% of that being DisplayFusion.

I attached a screenshot of Windows task manager and another log file.

I noted that only one of the three displays was completely unresponsive.

What I mean by this is that if I clicked an application icon on the taskbar of that monitor, the focus didn't change to that application. I eventually got a Windows busy indicator (hourglass), but if I clicked an application icon on the other 2 displays, it changed the focus to that window.

The problem display is display #3, which is not the main display, but an extend to display.

It is one of two identical Dell 2317H displays, being used in conjunction with the laptop display.

Display #2, another Dell 2317H, is the main display.

Ok, there's not much information we can pull from 9.1 to troubleshoot this further. If you can update to 9.2 Beta 1, that would be great. We've made a few changes to hopefully fix this issue in 9.2 Beta 1.

I am obtaining a temp local admin password to install v9.2, Beta 1.

I'll report back with an update when I've installed the beta.

I've installed 9.2 (beta 1).

The CPU spike only happens intermittently, but so far, so good.

I included the log from after the update to 9.2 (beta 1)

I'll report back if I see the behavior.

Sounds good, thanks! Does it still hang briefly as well? Or is it just showing a short CPU spike in Task Manager occassionally now?

I have not identified a CPU spike attributed to DisplayFusion since the update to 9.2 (beta 1).

I think that resolved the issue.
