DisplayFusion seems to work just fine in the background - I can move windows and the keyboard shortcuts seem to work as well. My main problem is that I can't open the Settings. I have tried to use the icon tray and the Start menu methods and neither one works. I get an image as if it is going to open and then nothing happens. I will be upgrading my keyboard soon and the new keyboard does not have a Windows key. I desperately need to get into the Settings to adjust the keyboard shortcuts in order to make them work with the new keyboard. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I am on a Windows 7 Professional, SP 1 machine. Any ideas? I am not the administrator unfortunately, it is my computer at work.

I'm sorry to hear that! What anti-virus or anti-malware software are you using? There are a couple that have been known to cause issues with the DisplayFusion Settings window.

It appears that there is Microsoft Security Essentials on my machine and I don't know what else. Our IT is unfortunately outsourced to a consulting group so I don't know what they use.

Do you have an application called "Dell Backup and Recovery" installed on your machine? If so, that's likely what's causing this to happen. If you don't use it, there are a couple of things you can do to resolve this:

  • Uninstall Dell Backup and Recovery, or,
  • Rename the C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell Backup and Recovery\components\Shell\System.Data.SQLite.dll file to System.Data.SQLite.old

Hope that helps!
