Hi,

Is there a way to change the url for a wallpaper from a script ?
I'd like to trigger a script periodically and change the wallpaper url based on time info. Can that be done ?

Are you using the Website wallpaper source, or the "Load Image from URL" source?

I haven't chosen a method yet, i was still looking if it was possible.
To me it would make sense to use the URL source and be able to set that source using a script.

Ok, that isn't currently possible, unfortunately. But, how many different URLs are you wanting to rotate through?

There are several high quality webcams i like to get the images from.. the urls for the image change with every picture taken, which is every 10 to 30 minutes.

Is there a set list of the URLs, or are they based on the date or something like that?

The images are being generated at set intervals and get an url based on date, time and often location. Usually something like http://server/location/cam/2016/12/14/1330/large.jpg. Unfortunately there's no such thing as http://server/location/cam/latest/large.jpg

Ok, thanks! I've created a feature request for scripting functions for setting the wallpaper from a URL and added your details. We'll be sure to let you know if/when we're able to implement it.

Thanks!
