Im using two 22" widescreens set at 1680*1050 and using a wallpaper of 3360*1050.

What is the best way to adjust for the gap between screens? It annoys me when the pictures dont line up correctly, especially with diagonals cutting across the center of the screen.

I am coming to the conclusion that the only way is to try and find wallpaper with 3360*(bigger than 1050), so I can nudge the second monitors image up a bit. Is this my only option?, (or am I missing a trick)

thanks

Try this: Get into the setting tab for display properties, and click a screen there. Now wither drag or use the arrow keys for fine control and see what you get. Only thing I can think of.

To flesh out the original problem which took me a good bit to get, the monitors are at different heights physically, at least form what I could tell. If not, could you clarify?

Both monitors at same size and at the same height.

The problem occurs because of the monitor "frame", (which adds up to 1 1/2" gap between lcd screens). This causes lines which are travelling up across the split to look wrong. Basically the picture is split in half and spread across the two monitors, but I really want it to have 1 1/2" of the image, (in the centre), removed, moved or hidden.

If you were to follow a line from one monitor to the next it should be a continual line, but because of the monitor frame the second image actually appears lower than it should, (its the gap between images that does it), if the lcd screens were touching the image would look fine.

I know that isnt a much better description, but I hope it is clearer.

Edit:

Ive had time to adjust the image. by moving the 2nd monitors picture -170 I get a good result. Only problem is that I am left with a gap at the right hand side. I'm thinking that if I stretch the image to 3530*1050 I will be able to make the adjustment.

Yea, just moving the right half over by the 170 should do it, just have a 170*1050 box in the middle. I think you can already see what I mean. Just remember to actually start the 170*1050 box at the 1680 mark, not centered around it. Good luck.

Thanks for the help again Pyrobob, excellent tip. This is exactly what I do to get rid of the gap between the 2 monitors. It takes a bit of playing around to find the correct offset for your monitor, but this is the best way to handle it right now.
