running Beta 3. cannot get the slideshow to work from any source. Downloads the pictures fine and shows them in the wallpaper preview but will not change on actual monitor. Always get the error,
An error has occurred while setting your new Wallpaper.
A generic error occurred in GDI+.

If you haven't already, could you try rebooting your machine? We had another customer run into the same issue and a reboot fixed it. Best guess is a recent Windows update that isn't fully baked until after a reboot.
